Free Programs

Here are a few programs that I like to use. They are all free.

Picasa
The easy way to find, edit, and share your photos. It may not be enough for hard core photo editing but for everyday use it dose a very good job and it's easy to use. It's free from google.

PortableApps.com
Carry your favorite computer programs along with all of your bookmarks, settings, email and more with you. Use them on any Windows computer. It works good on a USB flashdrive.

OpenOffice.org
Open-source office software suite for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, databases and more. A great free replacement for Microsoft Office. It can read and write Microsoft Office files.

Google Earth
Google Earth lets you fly anywhere on Earth to view satellite imagery, maps, terrain, 3D buildings and even explore galaxies in the Sky. This program is usefull and fun to play with.

TreeSize Free
TreeSize Free tells you where precious space has gone to. If you want to find out what is filling up your hard drive try this program. It may suprize you what is using up the most space.

CCleaner
CCleaner is a freeware system optimization, privacy and cleaning tool. It removes unused files from your system. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. And that is not all it does.

Belarc Advisor
Belarc Advisor builds a detailed profile of your installed software and hardware and displays the results in your Web browser. If you ever want to know what kind of hardware you have are just about anything else about your computer this is a good program.

Macrium Reflect Free Edition
Macrium Reflect is a disk imaging solution for free. A complete disaster recovery solution for your home. The link here is to download.com. I could not find the free version on the Macrium Website.

VLC Media Player
VLC is a portable multi-media player. VLC supports many audio and video codecs and file formats, as well as DVDs, and VCDs. If your having trouble playing video on your computer try this. VLC has allways played everything I've tried on it.

DVDVideoSoft
This free software is a collection of more than twenty different utilities designed to provide you with new ways to enjoy music and videos the way you choose. It can be used for Mp3s and burning movies on to DVDs. It also converts between differant formats. It is basic but it gets the job done.
